Swimming Falls to Marywood and St. Mary's College of Maryland in Conference Action

SCRANTON, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College swimming team lost a pair of decisions on Saturday afternoon, falling to Marywood University, 186-42, and St. Mary's College of Maryland, 191-37, in an Atlantic East Conference meet.

The relay team of first-year Kaitlyn Cohen (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt), junior Rylie Heusner (Scranton, Pa./Holy Cross), sophomore Madison Nadasi (Bushkill, Pa./East Stroudsburg North), and first-year Maria Aragon (Albuquerque, N.M./Rio Grande) finished fourth in the 400-yard medley relay, touching in 5:17.67.

In the 200-yard freestyle, senior Alyssa Reinhart (Easton, Pa./Easton) swam a time of 2:54.04, taking sixth.

Aragon was the lone Falcon in the pool in the 100-yard backstroke, collecting a sixth-place finish (1:28.35).

Heusner and junior Krillhe Gonell (Bronx, N.Y./George Washington) were the Cedar Crest representatives in the 100-yard breaststroke. Heusner was second (1:16.77) and Gonell followed in eighth (1:48.82).

The Falcons went eight-nine in the 50-yard freestyle with Nadasi swimming a time of 30.87 seconds and Cohen in 33.58 seconds.

Heusner paced Cedar Crest in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing third in a time of 1:02.38. Gonell also swam the event and touched in 1:45.67, taking ninth.

Reinhart was the only Falcon in the water for the 200-yard backstroke, registering a time of 3:45.86.

Aragon was back in the pool for the 500-yard freestyle, recording a sixth-place finish (7:17.31).

Nadasi competed in the 100-yard butterfly and took sixth, clocking a time of 1:22.75.

Heusner took part in the 200-yard IM and swam a time of 2:38.27, which put her fifth.

The team of Gonell, Reinhart, Cohen, and Aragon collected a fourth-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay (5:34.42).

Cedar Crest (1-7 overall, 1-4 Atlantic East) will stay on the road for a non-conference double dual on Saturday, January 24 against Messiah University and Stevenson University at Messiah at 11:00 a.m.
