ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Cameron Shackford has been named as the Graduate Assistant Soccer Coach, announced by Head Soccer Coach Rosie Famolaro on Monday.

"I am thrilled to have Coach Shack coming on board," said Famolaro. "She will be a phenomenal addition to our coaching staff. There was a strong applicant pool, but through the interview process, Cameron stood out. She comes from a coaching family and has seen firsthand the demands, expectations, and responsibilities that come with a career in coaching. Additionally, she had a successful playing career at both Roanoke and Shenandoah - both members of the highly regarded ODAC - and brings with her a competitive mentality and understands what it takes to be a winner. She will challenge our student-athletes and help them to realize the greatness that lies within each of them! We can't wait to get started!"

Shackford arrives in Allentown following a four-year collegiate soccer career, playing three seasons at Roanoke College before transferring to Shenandoah University for her final season, successfully balancing academics and athletics. A lifelong soccer player with a passion for leadership, mentorship, and player development, she went on to earn All-ODAC Third Team honors during the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

Shackford comes from a family deeply rooted in coaching and athletics. Her twin brother, Keegan, played Division I football at Iowa State and is now a football coach at William & Mary. Her older sister, Kayleigh, played Division I soccer at William & Mary before spending a season playing professionally in Ireland. She now works for D.C. United. Cameron's mother, Julie Shackford, has spent more than 30 years as one of the most respected coaches in collegiate soccer. She founded the women's soccer program at Carnegie Mellon University before spending 20 seasons at Princeton University, where she led the Tigers to the 2004 NCAA Final Four. Julie is now entering her eighth season as head coach at her alma mater, William & Mary.

"I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to begin my collegiate coaching career at Cedar Crest College," said Shackford. "What excites me most is the chance to learn from Coach Rosie and her wealth of experience in the game while helping develop our student-athletes. I'm looking forward to building strong relationships with the team and contributing to a culture where every player is challenged to grow with confidence, accountability, and a love for the game."

Born in Princeton, New Jersey, and now a native of Burke, Virginia, Shackford graduated summa cum laude from Shenandoah University with a Bachelor of Business Administration with focus in Sports Management.

The Cedar Crest College soccer team opens the 2026 campaign on Tuesday, September 1 at home against Brooklyn College at 6:00 p.m.
