Cedar Crest absorbed the Greyhounds' pressure in the first quarter, with Heater making five saves before first-year Lena Virga (Pittsgrove, N.J.) scored at 13:23 off a senior Maddie Snyder (Fredericksburg, Pa.) assist to put Moravian ahead 1-0. The Falcons' best chance came at 6:18, when first-year
Carli Apgar (Easton, Pa./Wilson Area) put a shot on goal that senior Maia Machado (Fountainville, Pa.) saved. The quarter ended with Cedar Crest trailing 1-0.

Eva Borsuk's (Effort, Pa./Moravian Academy) shot was saved following a late penalty corner. Earlier, the Greyhounds scored three times in the quarter, while Heater made three saves for Cedar Crest. The stanza ended with the Falcons trailing 4-1 at halftime.
Cedar Crest got one back in the third quarter when first-year
Juliana Shearer (Dover, Pa./Dover) scored at 38:58, making it 5-2 after Moravian had gone up 5-1 earlier in the quarter. Borsuk had a shot blocked and Roth earned a penalty corner at 34:10, while Heater made three saves as the Falcons entered the fourth down 5-2.
The Falcons kept the Greyhounds off the board in the fourth quarter behind Heater, who stopped seven shots in the final 15 minutes. Moravian added one penalty corner and continued to pressure late, but the quarter ended scoreless. The game finished with the Greyhounds ahead 5-2.
For Cedar Crest, Shearer scored an unassisted goal on her only shot. Roth also converted her lone shot into an unassisted goal. Heater finished with 18 saves over 60 minutes, including seven in the fourth quarter.
For the Greyhounds, sophomore Ta'Nya Cutler (Salisbury, Md.) scored three goals on nine shots, putting eight on goal. Senior Liv Peechatka (Henryville, Pa.) recorded two assists and had seven shots, including four on goal. Virga tallied the game-winning goal and finished with five shots, four on goal. Sophomore Alana Dinsmore (Perkasie, Pa.) added an assist and produced five shots, placing four on goal.
Cedar Crest (3-5 overall) begins United East Conference play with its next contest on Saturday, October 3 at Lancaster Bible College at 11:00 a.m. Moravian (4-5 overall) welcomes in the Catholic University of America on Saturday for a league game starting at 1:00 p.m.
