READING, Pa. — The Cedar Crest College soccer team lost to Albright College, 4-1, on Saturday at Shirk Stadium.
The Falcons spent much of the first half defending after Lions' sophomore Brylie Jensen (Brunswick, Md.) scored in the fifth minute, but Cedar Crest kept the deficit at 1-0 through halftime.
Senior
Jasmin Alvarado (Plainfield, N.J./Piscataway) put the Falcons on the board in the 72nd minute, scoring off an assist from first-year
Camille Chambers (Albrightsville, Pa./North Hunterdon) to make it 2-1. Albright answered with two goals from junior Daiveni Fisher (Christiana, Pa.) later in the half, and Cedar Crest fell 4-1.
Alvarado scored on her only shot and finished with two points for Cedar Crest. First-year
Sarah Parsons (Brimfield, Mass./Tantasqua Regional) recorded 10 saves in goal over 90 minutes, making seven in the first half and three in the second. Senior
Avery Kramer (Blandon, Pa./Fleetwood Area) put her lone shot on goal. Chambers posted the other shot for the Falcons.
Fisher scored twice on seven shots for the Lions, putting five attempts on goal. Jensen added a goal on five shots, including two on frame. Sophomore Samantha Rosenberg (Sellersville, Pa.) scored the game-winning goal on her only shot. First-year Olivia Reinhart (Schnecksville, Pa.) played all 90 minutes in goal and finished with two saves.
Cedar Crest (0-1-0 overall) will remain on the road for a match at Delaware Valley University on Wednesday, September 9 at 4:00 p.m. Albright (2-1-0 overall) will play at Wilkes University for its next contest on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
