McKeon got his start working in sports information as an undergraduate at Mitchell College in New London, Conn., where he earned a bachelor's degree in Sports and Recreation Management with a concentration in Sports Communication. Outside of the classroom, he served as the public address announcer for the men's and women's basketball home games for four years. In addition, McKeon was a two-sport student-athlete, competing in cross country and tennis for the Mariners at the NCAA Division III level.
