Cedar Crest Drops CSAC Match to Marywood

Allentown, PA - At home on Wednesday, Cedar Crest fell to Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Marywood University in straight sets by scores of 25-12, 25-16 and 25-18. The Falcons improved as the night wore on, but just could not find the right combination to defeat a powerful Pacer team which advanced to the semifinals of last season's CSAC volleyball championship.

Cedar Crest freshman Deb Lobien (Lehighton, PA, Lehighton) led the team in sets with 18, and had eight digs and an ace, while sister Jess Lobien (Lehighton, PA, Lehighton) led the team in digs with 16. Freshman Becca Grady (Silver Spring, MD, Paint Branch) had eight kills, tied for the top honor with the Pacers' Erica Krakosky. The Falcons drop to 7-8 on the season and are now 1-4 Colonial States Athletic Conference, while Marywood improves to 12-6 and 4-1 in the CSAC. Next up, Cedar Crest will host a tri-match on Saturday, October 8th, with CSAC opponent Centenary and non-conference opponent Moravian College. Cedar Crest will play Centenary at 10:00 AM and Moravian at 2:00 PM. The two visitors will play each other here at Cedar Crest in the middle game at 12:00 PM.
