Season Stats

Center Valley, PA - On Monday, Cedar Crest traveled to nearby DeSales University for a non-conference matchup and came away with a 2-1 overtime win over their Middle Atlantic Conference opponents.

Both teams were firing offensively in the first half, with the Bulldogs' Alison Malatesta scoring first and the Falcons' Emily Rodenberger (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) evening the score just before the half on a shot that glanced off the goalie and into the cage.

DeSales ramped things up offensively in the second half, with an 11-3 edge in shots and an amazing 14 penalty corners, but the Cedar Crest defense remained unbowed.

On to overtime went the Falcons, determined not to experience the same outcome they did in a 4-3 OT loss to Bryn Mawr just last week. And the result would indeed be different, as Jessica Sanbeg (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley) was in the right place at the right time to poke in an errant pass in front of the cage in the sixth minute of overtime.

Senior goalie Lindsay Harrison (Hanover, PA/Littlestown) had 10 saves in over 75 minutes in goal.

Cedar Crest is now 5-5 overall on the season and remains 1-1 in the CSAC. DeSales drops to 3-6 and has lost four straight. This Thursday, October 4th, the Falcons travel to Wilson for another non-conference game at 4:00 PM.
