Season Stats

Allentown, PA - Cedar Crest traveled to neighboring Muhlenberg College on Saturday for a tri-match that included Washington College, but came up short against both opponents.

Playing Washington for the second time this season, the Falcons again lost 3-1 and by very similar scores. The Shorewomen took the first set 25-14 but Cedar Crest rallied to turn the tables and win the second set by the identical 25-14 score. In that game, the Falcons jumped out to an early four-point lead from which they never looked back and put together strings of as many as six unanswered points. Washington got back on track however, and won the final two 25-15 and 25-14. Rebecca Grady (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) had 10 kills, an ace and two blocks, and Debra Lobien (Lehighton, PA/Lehighton) had 28 assists and 19 digs.

The Falcons found it to be a tougher go against Muhlenberg, losing 3-0 with some lopsided scores - 25-6, 25-9, 25-20. The Mules dominated, holding Cedar Crest to just 17 kills and 16 assists as a team. Amber Wehry (Klingerstown, PA/Tri-Valley Jr/Sr) led the Falcons in kills with six, and Deb Lobien had 13 assists.

The Falcons are now 8-11 on the season and 2-3 in the CSAC. Washington improves to 8-11 as well, and Mublenberg is now 12-6. This Wednesday, October 10th, Cedar Crest will host CSAC opponent Rosemont College at 7:00 PM.
