Clarks Summit, PA - The Falcons saw a great season draw to a close on Thursday night with a 3-0 loss at Baptist Bible in the opening round of the Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs.

The match was closer than the score might indicate. Cedar Crest started tentatively and allowed the Defenders to open a 7-0 lead that seemed to portend a rough night for the visitors. But after a well-timed timeout by coach Andrea Salazar to settle her women down, the Falcons rose to the challenge. Although they lost the initial set 25-14, Cedar Crest was not about to go away quietly. They forced extra play in the second set, a 26-24 loss, and rallied in the the third to finish 25-12.

Rebecca Grady (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) led the team in kills with 10. Amber Wehry (Klingerstown, PA/Tri-Valley Jr/Sr) led the team in digs with 14, and Debra Lobien (Lehighton, PA/Lehighton) had 21 assists and 10 digs.

The Falcons end the season 13-15 overall, and 6-5 in the conference during the regular season. Baptist Bible moves on to face Cabrini in the second round of the playoffs.
