Aston, PA - On the road at Neumann University on Tuesday, Cedar Crest suffered a shutout conference loss.
In the first set, Cedar Crest stuck with the Knights until about the midpoint, when Neumann rattled off eight unanswered points including six from Victoria Limmina. The Falcons never recovered, losing 25-15. The second set was similar, with Limmina scoring nine points over two runs en route to a 25-16 victory. But the never-say-die Falcons refused to throw in the towel and played the Knights much closer in the third set, rallying from as many as seven points down but falling by the score of 25-22.
Cedar Crest sophomore Rebecca Grady (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) led the Falcons in kills with eight. Sophomore Debra Lobien (Lehighton, PA/Lehighton) had 20 assists and 13 digs, while fellow soph Nikole Johnson (Ashley, PA/Holy Redeemer) had 12.
Cedar Crest is now 7-5 overall and 1-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Neumann improves to 8-7 and 3-0 in the conference. Cedar Crest will host CSAC opponent Baptist Bible College on Thursday, 9/27 at 7:00 PM.
