Allentown, PA - At home against Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Baptist Bible College on Thursday, Cedar Crest was slow to get going before rallying to go toe to toe with the Defenders in an eventual 3-1 loss.

In the first set, Baptist Bible got out to an early five point lead and then closed with a big run to defeat the Falcons handily 25-15. But Cedar Crest was quick to put it behind them and seemed to hit their stride in the second set, which featured six ties and six lead changes en route to the eventual 25-20 Falcon victory. Cedar Crest continued to take it to the Defenders, but the third and fourth sets were nearly identical 25-20 and 25-21 Baptist Bible victories. The final set in particular was a hard-fought, back and forth tilt that was tied on 12 occasions.

For Cedar Crest, sophomore Rebecca Grady (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) had 15 kills and two aces. Sophomore Jessica Lobien (Lehighton, PA/Lehighton) had 11 kills and 17 digs, but freshman Ericka Clayton (Zionsville, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) led the Falcons in digs with 22. Sophomore Debra Lobien (Lehighton, PA/Lehighton) had 35 assists and 14 digs.

Cedar Crest is now 7-6 overall and 1-2 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference, and Baptist Bible is 8-7 and 2-0 in the CSAC. Cedar Crest will travel to Penn State Berks on Saturday, September 29th, for a tri-match with the Nittany Lions and Alvernia College.
