Dials Solid Outing not Enough for Falcons

Natalia Dial (Kannapolis, PA/Jesse C. Carson) would go six solid innings in the losing effort as Cedar Crest fell to Centenary 3-1 in game 2 of the season opening double header this afternoon.

Dial allowed seven hits allowing three runs all earned while striking out three.  She would also issue three walks in the outing and now falls to 0-1 on the young season.

On the offensive side six different players would reach on hits with Paige VanderMeer putting the Falcons first run on the board with a single to left in the fourth to plate Dial.  Vandermeer would finish 1 for 2 while teammate Shannon Wenner (Drums, PA/MMI Preparatory) reached base three times with 2 walks and a hit.  The Falcons had one extra base hit on the day with Jeniffer Hallowell (Coopersburg, PA/Southern Lehigh)'s double to lead the game off in the first.

The Falcons fall to 0-2 overall while Centenary improves to 2-0.  The Falcons will turn right around to face Immaculata for the Falcons Home Opener tomorrow at the Cynthia L. Blaschak Field with game 1 scheduled to start at 1:00 PM weather permitting.
