Falcons can't shake Home Opening Loss

9/2/2013 5:11:00 PM

Box Score Allentown, PA

Mary Rotimi looked to turn their season around after a season opening loss to Lehman last week.  The Falcons hosted Misericordia University in game one of the Cedar Crest College Tri-Match featuring Vassar.  Game 1 against MU would be a battle back and forth for the Falcons and Cougars as Misericordia would take game one 25-20.

Game two would go more the Falcons way as they would see their first lead of the day starting off the second set 1-0, and then eventually 3-2.  But Misericordia, fresh off their battle with Cairn would put their skills to work and go on a 7-3 run in which the Falcons would respond with their own 4-0 run before falling again in set two 25-18.

Game three would be all Cougars as the Falcons would drop in three straight sets, losing set three 25-7.

For the Falcons, Rebecca Grady (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) finished with six kills and freshman Celina Danish (Allentown, PA/Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts) would wrap up her first home game as a Falcon with eight assists.

Up next for the Falcons, they will host Vassar at 6:00 PM tonight in the final match of the Cedar Crest College Tri-Match.
