1/13/2014 8:39:00 PM

Box Score Allentown, PA

It was Back-To-School night at Cedar Crest College as the Falcons hosted their conference rival Cairn University this evening.

The Falcons looking to put an end to their losing streak came into tonight's game focused and ready for anything.  "We really wanted this game" said Head Coach Ty Taylor, "I told the team to look past the record because any given day any team can win".  The Falcons used Taylor's advice and took a 14 point lead into the first half thanks in large part to Breonna Lewis (Abingdon, MD/Sovereign Grace Homeschool), who would drop in 11 fist half points and grab seven first half rebounds.  Senior Amber Wehry (Klingerstown, PA/Tri-Valley Jr/Sr) would add eight points of her own and DeJanet Lantion (Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy) would collect five boards of her own in the first half.

The second half would feature more of the same for the Falcons which came as a relief for Coach Taylor "We trained hard over the winter break, and it is finally showing through, these ladies are strong and they showed it in the second half".  Lewis would out-do first half dropping in twelve more before the final buzzer.

The Falcons can also thank their free throw shooting with resulted in eight points as the team finished 6-8 in the first half and 2-2 in the second which would lead the Falcons to their first win of 2014 a 55-42 win.

The Falcons improve to 2-11 overall and 1-5 in the CSAC, the Falcons also improve to 1-4 at home.  Their schedule again at home on Wednesday the 15th as they are set to take on the visiting Patriots of Valley Forge.
