ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College basketball team has added another milestone to a historic 2025-26 campaign, earning its first-ever selection to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll, as announced by the WBCA on Tuesday.

The recognition marks another record-breaking achievement for the Falcons, who posted the highest team grade-point average in program history while also recording the highest GPA among all United East Conference women's basketball programs during the 2025-26 academic year. Cedar Crest's historic classroom success comes on the heels of a season that also established a new program record for wins.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll recognizes the nation's top NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball programs based on cumulative team grade-point average. Teams must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA and be nominated by a WBCA-member head coach to be considered.

For first-year head coach Jason Rhine, the honor is another reflection of the culture established by the team throughout an unforgettable season.

"This recognition means so much because it reflects who our student-athletes are every single day," Rhine said. "To earn the highest team GPA in Cedar Crest basketball history while also putting together the winningest season our program has ever had is an incredible accomplishment. Success on the court is exciting, but seeing our team achieve this level of excellence in the classroom makes me even more proud. This group embraced every challenge in my first season, and they've shown what can happen when commitment, discipline and teamwork extend far beyond basketball. They have represented Cedar Crest with tremendous pride, and this honor is something they have truly earned."

Cedar Crest's appearance on the WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll is the first in program history and further highlights one of the most successful seasons the Falcons have ever experienced.
