Aston, PA- The Cedar Crest Soccer team fell on the road today in a 3-2 thriller, as they took on the Neumann University Knights.
The Falcons began the game strong in the first half, as
Courtney Long (Coopersburg, PA/Southern Lehigh) continued her goal scoring streak. She scored her 12
th goal of the season in the 4
th minute of the game when she took on the Knights goalkeeper 1v1 and slid the ball right by her to the near post.
Caitlyn Mann (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) would also continue her scoring streak as she stuck "home" in the 13
th minute. The score would end at 2-0 before halftime.
The Falcons would begin to disappear in the second half as they allowed the Knights to strike back in the 51
st and 59
th minute respectively to tie the game. With only minutes remaining in the game, both teams were hungry for another goal. The Knights would find this goal in the 87
th minute. This goal would be the last of the game as the Knights came on top 3-2.
With the loss, the Falcons fall to a record of 4-11-1 overall and 2-6 in CSAC play. They return to the field on Tuesday October 21
st, as they take on the Keystone Giants at home at 4pm.
