The Cedar Crest College Basketball team opened up competition for the month of December as they traveled to Brooklyn New York to face off with the Lady Bears of St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn. Â
The Falcons would open up the first half with the NCAA D-III's leader in Double-Double's leading the way for the Falcons collecting six rebounds and six points. Â
Denyell Spingola (East Haddam, CT/Nathan Hale-Ray) would finish with four rebounds including three offensive while
DeJanet Lantion (Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy) and
Miranda Schaeffer (Newport, PA/Newport) would both finish with two first half points. Â The Falcons grabbed 17 rebounds as a team in the first half.
The second half would see Lewis collect five more rebounds and points to collect her nation leading 5th double-double of the season. Â Freshman
Carley Desiderio (Boyton Beach, FL/Olympic Heights) would step up for the Falcons in the paint grabbing five offensive rebounds while classmate
Victoria Eppright (Drexel Hill, PA/Delaware County Christian) would add four defensive rebounds of her own. Â Schaeffer and
Taylor Osley (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff High School) would both add four points a piece as the Falcons would drop 21 points in the second half. Â As a team the Falcons grabbed 22 rebounds and held the Lady Bears to just 29% shooting in the second half.
The Falcons fall to 1-5 overall and will open up CSAC competition on Wednesday when they welcome Keystone College to Lees Gymnasium. Â Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
