Box Score

Set One:

Last season the Falcons took an early 1-0 before they would see the Monarchs go on a 11-2 run before Head Coach Marie Polzella would need to call a time out.  That time out would work some in the Falcons favor as the would begin chipping back into the set.  After fighting back for two more points, the Monarchs would push the Falcons to the brink as they would run the score in set one to 17-5.

The Falcons would then once again begin to fight back, going on a 5-3 run to push the Falcons within 10.  Unfortunate errors by the Falcons would allow the Monarchs to walk away with set one despite the Ericka Clayton (Zionsville, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) and the Falcons defense putting a few more points on the board, Cedar Crest would drop set one 25-14.

Set Two:

In set two the Falcons would run into more Monarch trouble.  With a deep and talented bench, Kings College would quickly run the score up 8-3 before going on a 12-3 run to push the score to 20-6.  Despite big blocks by Celina Danish (Allentown, PA/Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts) and senior Rebecca Grady (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) the Falcons would see the score run to 21-6.

In typical Cedar Crest fashion the Falcons would battle back with a quick 3-0 run to force Kings to take a timeout.  That timeout was crucial to the Monarchs, who would close out set two by a score of 25-9.

Set Three:

Set three the Falcons would come out swinging as they would push the Monarchs to each earned point.  With the score 10-6, the Monarchs would push the lead to 15-8.  The Falcons would fight back with three more before the Monarchs would return with four points of their own to force the score to 19-11.  With kills that just missed from Kiersten Collins (Forest City, PA/Forest City Regional) and Kaylee Martinez (Hemet, CA/West Valley) the Falcons would fail to rally in set three and fall 25-16.
