Immaculata, PA
The Cedar Crest College Basketball team took to the road this afternoon as they traveled to Immaculata, PA for a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) showdown with the Mighty Macs. Â Coming into this match up the Falcons had won two of their last three CSAC games with impressive wins over Cairn University (72-38) and Baptist Bible College (53-44). Â With those two wins the Falcons found themselves in the 7th spot just a few spots out of playoff contention. Â Also coming into this match up, Immaculata University, winners of their last two games, came into the game still undefeated in the CSAC at 3-0.
In the first half, the Falcons would run into stiff competition as the Mighty Macs took off running. Â
Breonna Lewis (Abingdon, MD/Sovereign Grace Homeschool) would lead the Falcons with four points, while
Kayleigh Keggan (Blairstown, NJ/Belvidere) would add three and
Taylor Osley (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff High School) and SHemeca Thompson would both add two. Â
Miranda Schaeffer (Newport, PA/Newport) would add one to round out the scoring for the Falcons in the first half. Â
In the second half the Falcons would start to push the pace and stay with the Mighty Macs through out the rest of the game. Â
DeJanet Lantion (Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy) and Lewis would both finish with ten second half points while Thompson would add three. Â Lewis would also grab seven second half rebounds, five of which were offensive.
For the game, Lewis would lead the Falcons in scoring with 14 points and nine rebounds, just missing another double-double. Â
DeJanet Lantion (Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy) would add ten points and three rebounds while
Taylor Osley (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff High School) would connect for four. Â As a team the Falcons shot 32.7 % from the field and 66.7 % from the free throw line while grabbing 33 total rebounds (13 offensive and 20 defensive).
The Falcons now fall to 3-11 overall and 2-4 in the CSAC. Â The Falcons will also play one last game this week hosting Gwynedd Mercy University on the 14th with game time scheduled for 7 pm.
