The Cedar Crest College Basketball team got back in their winning ways last night dominating CSAC foe Cairn University 72-38. Â
In the first half it was all
Breonna Lewis (Abingdon, MD/Sovereign Grace Homeschool). Â Lewis would finish the first half with perfect shooting. Â Lewis finished 7-7 from the field and 1-1 from the free throw line for 15 points. Â Lewis would also grab five of the teams 20 rebounds in the first half. Â As a team, the Falcons shot a season high 48.6% from the field and 60% from the free throw line. Â Sophomore
Taylor Osley (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff High School) would add six first half points, while
Kayleigh Keggan (Blairstown, NJ/Belvidere) would add five. Â
DeJanet Lantion (Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy) and
Denyell Spingola (East Haddam, CT/Nathan Hale-Ray) would both add four first half points for the Falcons.
In the second half the Falcons would keep up the intensity shooting 42.9% from the field led by Keggan's 13 second half points. Â Keggan would finish 5-7 from the field and 3-4 from three point range. Â Osley would add nine second half points while Lantion would add four.
Individually for the Falcons three players finished with double-digit points led by Lewis who collected her 8th double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds while Keggan added 18 and Osley added 15.
As a team the Falcons shot 46.2% for the game, well above their season average and would add 36 points in the paint thanks in large part to their bigs
Miranda Schaeffer (Newport, PA/Newport) and
Shemeca Thompson (Bridgeport, CT/Warren Harding). Â The Falcons would also add 24 points off of turnovers and the bench would add 10 points in the win. Â The Falcons also set a season high with a 34 point lead with 20 seconds to go in the second half.
The Falcons improve to 1-2 in the CSAC and will travel to Baptist Bible College on Wednesday for another CSAC showdown. Â Game time is set for 6 pm.
