BALTIMORE, Md.---The Cedar Crest College field hockey won,6-1, as the team traveled to Baltimore, Maryland in Colonial States Athletic Conference match against Notre Dame of Maryland University.
"I'm so incredibly excited and proud of each girl on this team today," stated Head Coach
Kellina Yarrish. "Each one of them brought a different spark that was needed. They truly deserve this conference win. They worked so hard in practice and it's great to see the improvements throughout the season."
The Gators jumped out to an early lead, but the Falcons regained their composure as senior forward
Emily Rodenberger drove in the first goal to tie the game.
Rodgenberger would take control of the game for Cedar Crest ripping a shot past the goalkeeper to take the lead 2-1 before the half.
In the second half, junior midfielder
Priscilla Howell scored the third goal of the game off a deflection of the goalkeeper. Junior midfielder
Taylor Osley scored her second career goal with a pass around the goalkeeper to the hit the left side of the goal with an assist by junior midfielder
Samantha VanBeers.
Rodenberger snuck one past through the goalkeeper's leg for her first hat-trick of the year. Rodenberger wasn't done as she scored her sixth goal of the season from the middle of the circle.
The field hockey team hosts non-conference Misericordia University on Tuesday, October 12 at 4:00 p.m.
