ALLENTOWN, Pa.--- The Cedar Crest College field hockey team snuck in a non-conference match against Misericordia Univeristy between spotty weather in a 6-1 loss on Tuesday afternoon.
In the first half the Cougars shut down the Falcons offensive attack not allowing a single shot. Sophomore goalkeeper
Andi Dargis (East Hampton, NY/East Hampton) made eight saves in the first half as the defensive line held off a heavy attack despite playing a player down they were at a 4-0 deficit at halftime.
The second half saw a positive attack from the Falcons with senior forward
Emily Rodenberger (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) firing off back-to-back shots the first being saved and the second being blocked.
Rodenberger who fire another shot that hit off the post and the keeper that would be cleared back out to her that she would put back in for another shot that went and out of bounds. Rodenberger would score in the 69th minute to make the final score, 6-1.
The Cedar Crest field hockey team takes on Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Gwynedd Mercy at 4:00 p.m. at home on Thursday, October 15.
