Field Hockey Falls to Cabrini in Conference Play

RANDOR, Pa. ---The Cedar Crest College field hockey team dropped a Colonial States Athletic Conference game to Cabrini College on Wednesday afternoon by a final score of 8-0.

Sophomore goalkeeper Andi Dargis (East Hampton, NY/East Hampton) had six saves on the afternoon while sophomore midfielder Hannah Gouck (Kintnersville, PA/Palisades) had one defensive save for the Falcons. Cedar Crest would be awarded two penalty corners in an eight minute time span with the second corner taken by junior midfielder Priscilla Howell finding junior defender Rachel Stump (Fleetwood, PA/Fleetwood)  whose shot was saved by the goalkeeper.

The Black and Yellow had were awarded three more penalty corners in a three minute span, but couldn't work past their opponents defense. A flurry of shots came late in the second half for the Falcons the first by junior midfielder Taylor Osley (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff High School) firing a shot in the 68th minute that went just wide. A penalty corener this time taken by Stump found senior forward Emily Rodenberger (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) as her shot was blocked but recieved another penalty corner, again taken by Stump. This time around in the final seconds, Osley was on the end of the pass with her shot missing just wide.
 

Cedar Crest is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, October 24 when the Falcons will host Neumann University in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match slated for a 4:00 p.m. start.
