ALLENTOWN, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College field hockey team took on Immaculata University in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match as the Falcons fell, 6-0, on Tuesday afternoon.
In the first half, freshman goalkeeper
Desiree Lewis (Hazelton, Pa./Hazelton Area Academy of Sciences) made three saves as the Falcons attack go settled in the second half firing eleven shots. Senior forward
Emily Rodenberger (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) was the first to take a shot for Cedar Crest in the 36
th minute that was blocked. In the 44
th minute
Rodenberger would take her next shot that the goalkeeper saved.
Junior midfielder
Samantha VanBeers (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) fired her shot that the goalkeeper again made the save. Junior forward
Taylor Osley (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff High School) had back-to-back shots saved and then blocked.
Rodenberger had two more shots while O
sley had three shots both had the final two shots of the game,
Rodenberger was blocked and
Osley went just wide.
Lewis ended the game with eight saves.
The Falcons next game is on Thursday, October 29 at Keystone College in their final game of the season.
