Field Hockey Drops Tough Non-Conference Match

Wilkes Barre, Pa.--- The Cedar Crest College Field Hockey team traveled to non-conference King's College falling by a score of, 7-0, on Wednesday night.

"We had some good movement and the girls played with 100% heart from start to finish," commented Head Coach Kellina Yarrish. "However, Kings had excellent stick to stick passes, and they were agressive with thier double teaming."

The Falcons got things started late in the first half being awarded back-to-back penatly corners in the 32nd minute taken by junior midfielder Priscilla Howell (Stewartsville, N.J./Phillipsburg), the second resulting in senior forward Emily Rodenberger (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) taking a shot that was blocked leading to a follow up shot by Howell that went slightly left. Another penalty corener for Cedar Crest set Rodenberger for her second shot that went wide to the left of the cage.

In the second half Rodenberger got another chance to get a shot off that traveled wide to the right of the goal in the 64th minute. A penatly corner was awarded to the Falcons in the final minute of the game that set up Rodenberger but the goalkeeper made the save. Sophomore goalkeeper Andi Dargis (East Hampton, NY/East Hampton) made eight saves on the evening.

The Falcons next match is Saturday, October 10 at 1:00 p.m. as the travel to Baltimore, Md. for a Colonial States Athletic Conference match up with Notre Dame of Maryland University.
