Allentown, PA
The Cedar Crest College Basketball team welcomed CSAC rival Keystone to campus on Tuesday evening. Tonight's game, which was originally scheduled for Monday night, had to be moved due to the recent weather. The Giants entered tonight's game with a 7-5 record in the CSAC and 10-11 overall record while the Falcons entered with four CSAC conference wins and five wins overall.
In the first half, the Falcons would be led by
Kayleigh Keggan (Blairstown, NJ/Belvidere)'s five points, followed by
Denyell Spingola (East Haddam, CT/Nathan Hale-Ray)'s,
Breonna Lewis (Abingdon, MD/Sovereign Grace Homeschool)'s and
Shemeca Thompson (Bridgeport, CT/Warren Harding)'s four points apiece.Â
Meghan Gregory (Buckhorn, NM/Cliff High School) and
DeJanet Lantion (Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy) would round out the scoring for the Falcons in the first half. Thompson, Lantion and freshman
Victoria Eppright (Drexel Hill, PA/Delaware County Christian) would all finish with two rebounds apiece for the Falcons in the first 20 minutes. As a team the Falcons shot 30 % from the field and 60 % from the free throw line in route to 21 first half points.
In the second half the Falcons would hold the giants to nearly half of what they allowed in the first half while almost matching their first half output. In the second half the Falcons as a team would shoot 36 % even while shooting 33 % from beyond three point range.Â
Kayleigh Keggan (Blairstown, NJ/Belvidere) led all Falcons with 10 points while Spingola and Lewis each manufactured eight each. Thompson would add six and
Taylor Osley (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff High School) would chip in five in the 95-41 loss to Keystone.
The Falcons will keep the weekly tradition going and turn around for another CSAC conference game tomorrow evening when they host the Gators of Notre Dame University of Maryland. Game time is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM.Â
