Volleyball Drops First Day of Scranton Invitational

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SCRANTON, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College volleyball team opened the first day of the Scranton Invitation with games against Union College and Wentworth Institute of Technology. They fell to Union in three sets with scores of 25-8, 25-8 and 25-9. They went on to drop the second match with scores of 25-17, 25-10 and 25-13.

Senior outside hitter Ericka Clayton (Zionsville, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) led the team in game one with five kills and 10 digs. Sophomore middle blocker Molly Schnaubelt (San Diego, CA/University City) had two kill and three digs while sophomore defensive specialist Kaylee Martinez (Hemet, CA/West Valley) had one kill and 10 digs. Senior defensive specialist Kimlynn Tran () added five digs while junior opposite hitter Maggie Olock (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty High School) had seven digs.

In game two, Olock led the team with five kills, six digs and an assist. Clayton had three kills, 10 digs, one service ace and one assist. Junior setter Celina Danish (Allentown, PA/Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts) had six assists, two kills, one service ace and three digs. Tran had seven digs, one assist and one service ace and Martinez had 12 digs.

The Falcons hit the court for day two of the tournament tomorrow, Saturday, September 5 at 11:30 a.m. against Wesley College with a second match still to be determind.
