ASTON, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College basketball team traveled to Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Neumann University as they dropped the game by a final score of 85-37 on Wednesday evening.Â
Freshman forward
Katherina Pierre (Middletown, NY /John S. Burke Catholic) tied the game at two points a piece with a lay-up on a pass from junior guard
Taylor Osley (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff High School). After two minutes of play in the first, Cedar Crest trailed, 5-4. The Falcons would not be able to find the bottom of the net again until senior forward
Kayleigh Keggan (Blairstown, NJ/Belvidere) netted a jumper with 1:33 left in the quarter as the Knights had an extensive lead.Â
Neumann University held the Falcons to just two points in the second quarter, as the teams made their way to the locker room at the half with the Black and Yellow trailing, 50-8. In the third quarter, the Falcons outscored the Knights, 16-13 as six players contributed points in the quarter. The fourth quarter had Neumann scored nine more points than Cedar Crest.
Keggan led the team with eight points, grabbed two rebounds and had two assists while four other teammates had six points.
Osley had six points, two rebounds, three assists and three steals as freshman guard
Tenille Stewart (Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken) also had six points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal. Sophomore
Shemeca Thompson (Bridgeport, CT/Warren Harding) led the team in rebounds with 10, six points and one steal while
Pierre added six points, three rebounds on the night. Freshman guard
Rianna Kinard (Clinton, MD/Surrattsville High) added five points, seven rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block.
The team will end the week at Marywood University with tip off slated for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon in CSAC action. Â
