Volleyball beats Cairn on Senior Day

Box Score ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College volleyball team defeated the Cairn University Highlanders 3-2 in five sets on Senior Day, Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons lost the first two sets 25-19 and 25-21, but made a comeback in the third and fourth sets with scores of 25-23 and 25-20. In the fifth and final set, Cedar Crest and Cairn were matched point-for-point. Junior Molly Schnaubelt (San Diego, CA/University City) had the winning hit for the Falcons, serving the ball to the back of the court just out of the Highlanders' reach. The final score of the set was 15-13.

In their last match for the Falcons, senior Maggie Olock (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty High School) tallied 11 digs, one assist and eight kills and senior Celina Danish (Allentown, PA/Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts) had 16 digs, one assist, three service aces and six kills.
Freshman

Steph Barr (Unionville, CT/Sport and Medical Sciences Academy) had a team high of 39 assists. Barr also had nine digs, two services aces and four kills. Freshman Breanna Fields (Candor, N.Y./Candor Central) and Schnaubelt tied for the team high of kills with 10 each. Schaubelt also tallied nine digs, four assists and led the team with seven service aces. Fields had two digs and four service aces. Freshman Jacey Ludlam (Blackwood, NJ/Camden Catholic) had the most digs with 19 and also added one assist, one service ace and two kills for the Falcons. Freshman Nicole Hill (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) had a total of three blocks and eight kills.

The Falcons finished the 2016 season with a record of 7-15.
