Box Score ASTON, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College field hockey team fell to Colonial States Athletic Conference foe Neumann University, 5-1, on Saturday afternoon.
"I'm really proud of the way the girls played today," commented Head Coach
Kellina Yarrish. "We had so many sparks during the game. It's nice to see what we are practicing is transferring into the game."
The Falcons earned a penalty corner in the 22
nd minute of play, taken by freshman midfielder
Madison Bowen ( Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg Area Senior) who found freshman defender
Alexx Miller (Mechanicsburg, Pa/Mechanicsburg Area) who took the initial shot.
Miller had her shot blocked but freshman midfielder
Jennie Fritz (Walnutport, Pa./Northern Lehigh) was there for the follow up and put it in the back of the cage as the team now trailed, 3-1.
In the second half,
Fritz would try her luck again with the clock at 49:07 her shot would be saved this time around by the goalkeeper. The team was awarded another penalty corner, again taken by
Bowen, this time
Miller would be saved the goalkeeper on the final shot for the team.
The next game for the Falcons is on Saturday, October 15 with an 11:00 a.m. start time against Cabrini University in a CSAC match.
