Box Score 2 WAYNE, N.J. - The Cedar Crest College volleyball team was defeated by non-conference John Jay College and William Paterson University in a tri-match on Saturday afternoon.
In the first match against John Jay, the Falcons lost in three sets 21-25, 18-25 and 19-25. Freshman Steph Barr (Unionville, CT/Sport and Medical Sciences Academy) recorded 26 assists, eight digs and one block for Cedar Crest. Senior Maggie Olock (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty High School) picked up nine digs, six kills and one assist. Leading the Falcons with 10 kills, senior Molly Schaubelt also had two aces. Freshman Nicole Hill (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) tallied seven kills and one block, while freshman Jacey Ludlam (Blackwood, NJ/Camden Catholic) picked up nine digs for the Cedar Crest.
In the second match, Cedar Crest was defeated in three sets 12-25, 14-25 and 11-25 by William Paterson University. Olock picked up the team-high of eight kills. Schnaubelt led in service aces with two. Leading in assists was Barr with 21, and Ludlam had the team-high of 12 digs. Hill had one block.
The next match for the Cedar Crest College volleyball team will be played at home on Oct. 10 versus Delaware Valley University. The match is set to begin at 7:00 PM.
