LANGHORNE, Pa. - The Cedar Crest College basketball team traveled to Colonial States Athletic Conference foe Cairn University on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons were defeated 46-68 by the Highlanders.
Cedar Crest came out strong in the first quarter, but lost 10-19. Going into halftime, Cedar Crest was down 18-31. In the third quarter, the Falcons scored another eight points to the Highlanders' 16, making the score 26-47. In the fourth quarter, Cedar Crest and Cairn went point-for-point, but it was not enough and the Falcons dropped 46-68.
Sophomore guard Tenille Stewart (Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken) lead in points for the Falcons with 17 and had one assist. Freshman guard Sylera Weller (Lancaster, Pa./J.P . McCaskey) tallied 15 points, four rebounds and one assist. Geminii Cabrera (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic), a freshman forward, netted six points, two assists, one block and brought down 10 rebounds for Cedar Crest.
Senior Taylor Osley (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff High School) had four points, five assists and four rebounds on the afternoon. Forwards, freshman Sienne Kemmerer (Columbia, Pa./J.P. McCaskey ), and junior Shemeca Thompson (Bridgeport, CT/Warren Harding), each had one block for the Falcons while Thompson also tallied seven rebounds.
The Falcons play again on December 5 in Phoenixville, Pa. as they take on the University of Valley Forge. The game is set to begin at 7:00 PM.
