PHOENIXVILLE, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College basketball team traveled for their third road game to face non-conference University of Valley Forge on Monday evening where they were defeated 77-50.
The Falcons had a tough start falling to a 30-7 deficit in the first quarter. The team fought back making the each quarter closer from there out, scoring 14 points in the second quarter but trailed 45-21 at halftime. The Black and Yellow scored a total of 29 points in the final two quarters, tying the Patriots at 18 a piece in the fourth quarter but it wasn't enough to battle back.
Freshman guard/forward
Geminii Cabrera (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic)Â led the team with a high of 12 points, grabbed nine rebounds, one assist and one steal. Senior guard
Taylor Osley (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff High School) scored 10 points, three rebounds, two assists and one block while junior forward
Shemeca Thompson (Bridgeport, CT/Warren Harding) scored eight points, brought down six rebounds, one assist and two steals.
Sylera Weller (Lancaster, Pa./J.P . McCaskey), a freshman guard added seven points, three assists, five rebounds and two blocks. Freshman forward/guard
Venus Cabrera (Reading,Pa./Bucks Catholic) tacked on six points while freshman forward
Sienne Kemmerer (Columbia, Pa./J.P. McCaskey ) had four points and five rebounds and one block on the night. Sophomore guard
Tenille Stewart (Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken) had three points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Next up for the Falcons is Trinity DC as they return home on Thursday, December 8 for a 7:00 p.m. in a non-conference match-up.
