Box Score ALLENTOWN, Pa.—The Cedar Crest College field hockey team opened their 2016 season with a 2-0 win over non-conference opponent Bryn Mawr College on Thursday, September 1.

The field hockey team got the offense going after a corner by freshman forward Rachel Bechtel (), although cleared junior midfielder Elizabeth Lamm () got possession and dribbled her way around the defender at 6:24 for her first goal of the season. The second goal for the Falcons came in the 23^rd minute as freshman forward McKenna Hunt () found the back of the cage with a pass from senior forward Samantha VanBeers (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley).

Freshman goalkeeper Emma Ryan (/Park View) made six saves in the game to hold the Owls scoreless to earn her first collegiate shutout.

The Falcons will take the field again, Sunday, September 4 at 2:00 p.m. as they host non-conference Wells College.
