Box Score ALLENTOWN, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College volleyball team faced fellow Colonial States Athletic Conference team Gwynedd Mercy University on Wednesday night as they fell in four sets.
The team dropped the first two sets by scores of 25-17, and 25-15, but would take the third set 25-17 before falling in the final set 25-12. In the third set the teams fought hard battling point-for-point but the Falcons took the lead capitalizing on errors while senior outside hitter
Maggie Olock (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty High School), junior middle hitter
Molly Schnaubelt (San Diego, CA/University City) and outside hitter
Breanna Fields (Candor, N.Y./Candor Central) all earned kills to extend the lead 20-13. Two more kills from Schnaubelt would earn the team the set.
Schnaubelt led with 13 kills and had eight digs, while
Olock had six kills and eight digs.
Fields had five kills, two service aces and three total blocks as freshman middle hitter
Eliana McCray (Wilmington, Del./John Dickinson) had three kills, a total of four blocks, two blocks and two block assists. Freshman libero
Jacey Ludlam (Blackwood, NJ/Camden Catholic) had 13 digs and one service ace while freshman
Steph Barr (Unionville, CT/Sport and Medical Sciences Academy) paced the team with 23 assists, two service aces, eight digs and four block assists.
The next match for the Falcons is on Saturday, October 1 at 10:30 a.m. as they host Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Rosemont College.
