Box Score BALTIMORE, Md.---The Cedar Crest College basketball team traveled to Notre Dame of Maryland University in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match-up on Saturday afternoon in a 77-54 loss.
In the first quarter, back-to-back three pointers by senior guard
Taylor Osley (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff High School) tied the game at six with 7:21 left in the quarter. Freshman guard
Alissa DiGuglielmo (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) knocked down a three to take trail by three with just over four minutes to play. The Gators took an eight point lead, 19-11, at the end of the quarter.
The Falcons went on an unanswered six point run, starting with a layup by freshman guard
Sylera Weller (Lancaster, Pa./J.P . McCaskey), a jumper by sophomore
Tenille Stewart (Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken) and another two points by freshman
Geminii Cabrera (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) to trail by two. The home team extended lead before halftime, 41-27.
Cabrera led the team in scoring with 20 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
Stewart totaled 13 points, one rebound and two assists.
Osley knocked in 10 points, grabbing eight rebounds and three assists.
Weller scored six points in her first game back with three rebounds and one assist while junior forward
Shemeca Thompson (Bridgeport, CT/Warren Harding) had eight rebounds and two points on the night.
The next game for the Falcons is on Wednesday, January 18 at 7:00 p.m. in Lees Hall in a CSAC game against Gwynedd Mercy University.
