Cedar Crest Falls to CSAC Opponent

ALLENTOWN, Pa.---The Falcons struggled to earn points early on, but would bring intensity and strong defense after the first quarter against Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Marywood University Tuesday night. The team held two of the Pacers leading scorers to a season low but a late start wasn't enough to cut the deficit falling, 69-42.

The Black and Yellow picked up the pace after the first quarter, as senior guard Taylor Osley (Allentown, PA/Louis E. Dieruff High School) scored the first eight points for Cedar Crest, scoring 10 by halftime. Freshman guard/forward Geminii Cabrera (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) took off in the second half scoring 15 points, tying her season-high of 18 points. Sophomore newcomer Ta-Tionnah Curtis (Newark, N.J./University) played her first game as a Falcon and scored six points, three rebounds, one block and one steal

Junior forward Shemeca Thompson (Bridgeport, CT/Warren Harding) pulled down 12 rebounds and had two blocked shots on the night. While G. Cabrera pulled in seven boards and added four assists as freshman forward/guard Venus Cabrera (Reading,Pa./Bucks Catholic) had five rebounds and one steal.

Cedar Crest takes to the road for their next two games, first up in Centenary University at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5 in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match-up.
