Box Score ALLENTOWN, Pa.--- The Cedar Crest College volleyball team took down Notre Dame of Maryland after five sets on Saturday afternoon. Defeating the Gators 11-25, 27-25, 25-17, 23-25, and 15-13.
The Falcons came back after dropping the first set to win the second and third. Cedar Crest put things together to take back the lead 18-13 with a kill by senior outside hitter
Molly Schnaubelt (San Diego, CA/University City), a block from sophomore setter/middle hitter
Steph Barr (Unionville, CT/Sport and Medical Sciences Academy) and sophomore middle hitter
Nicole Hill (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) as
Hill added a kill to the rally as well. As the set went point-for-point, freshman middle hitter managed two kills to give the team a 24-23 lead. Even though freshman setter
Devyn Crowder (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) scored the 25
th point the Falcons still needed to win by two, an error helped, but the final point was a block by
Hill.
The teams battled for points in the third set until
Hill earned the serve back to allow the Falcons to go up 21-12. There were for visiting team errors while
Schnaubelt added a service ace, and
Hill added two more kills. Freshman middle hitter
Kailey Elrod (Annville, Pa./Palmyra Area) was set up by
Crowder for the 24
th point while
Crowder got the 25
th point with a kill.
The Falcons forced a fifth set, with the game tied 3-3, the team earned four more points to go up 7-3 on errors.

Elyse Podgurski (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) extended the lead 11-6, the team earned another three points on attacking errors while
Crowder got the 15
th point for the Falcons.
The next match for the volleyball team is on Tuesday, October 24 at Clarks Summit at 7:00 p.m. in CSAC play.
