Falcons win 5th straight with 3-0 shutout of Clarks Summit on Senior Day

ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest Soccer team defeated Clarks Summit University 3-0 to earn 10th win of the season and 5th consecutive victory on Senior Day Friday evening.

Prior to the start of the game, Cedar Crest honored their three seniors: Emily DeDonna (Haskell, N.J. /Lakeland Regional), Kassandra Miller (Fallsington, Pa./Pennsbury Senior ) and Morgan Maddock (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial High School).

The Falcons scored the first goal game in the 30th minute, when sophomore Avery Huston (Levittown, Pa./Bucks County Techinical) blasted a shot from over 25 yards out and got the ball over the keeper's glove for the only goal of the first half and Huston's first goal of the season.

The second half saw freshman Kaitlyn Kozdron (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township) scored two goals for her 4th and 5th goals of the season. The first goal Kozdron was scored in the 51st minute happened by the moves she made past the keeper and put a shot into the open net and her second goal after she beat two defenders in the 18-yard box before putting the shot in the bottom left corner of the net in the 68th minute.

Senior Morgan Maddock (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial High School) recorded two saves in the victory, posting her 6th shutout of the season. Maddock improves to 10-4 on the season.

Cedar Crest took 16 shots in the first and 13 shots in the second half for a total of 29 shots, with 11 shots going on goal. The Defenders mustered four shots, with only two shots going on the keeper. The Black and Yellow held Clarks Summit to not having a corner while Cedar Crest earned 12.

The Falcons will return to action on Tuesday, October 16 when they host their final home game of the 2018 season against Wilson College. Kickoff will begin at 7:00 PM at the FalconPlex.
