Field Hockey routed by Wilson College for first loss in CSAC play

ALLENTOWN, Pa --- The Cedar Crest Field Hockey team suffered its sixth loss of the season and first Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) loss to Wilson College, 2-1 on Tuesday evening.
 
The Falcons allowed two first half goals, the first in the 17th minute and the second in the 29th minute. The Black and Yellow had opportunities with having multiple corners in a row, but were unable to capitalize on them.
 
Late in the second half, freshman Serena Shuler (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) scored a goal for the Falcons in the 65th minute for her second goal of the season. Sophomores Annalise Unger (Burlington, Ver./Rice Memorial ) and Brice Gardner (Gardners, Pa./Biglerville ) were the only other Falcons to take shots on goal, but were unable to get past the keeper.
 
Cedar Crest took at total of nine shots with six being on cage while Wilson took 13 shots with 10 on goal. The Falcons earned nine penalty corners to the Phoenix seven.
 
Junior Cassandra Reijgers (Hollis, N.H./Hollis Brookline) was dealt the loss in the decision, making eight saves on the 10 shots on goal. Reijgers now has a record 2-4 on the season.
 
The Falcons return to action on Saturday, October 6 when they travel to Baltimore to face of fwith the Gators from Notre Dame of Maryland, beginning at 1:00 PM.
