BRUNSWICK, Maine --- The Cedar Crest Basketball squad fell to Wheaton College (Mass.), 36-67, in the Consolation Game of the Bowdoin Invitational Tournament, hosted by Bowdoin College Sunday afternoon.

The Falcons fall to 2-10 on the season with the loss, and sit at 1-2 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action. The opening quarter did not favor the Falcons, being held to just five points and the Lyons scored 20 points. The Black and Yellow outscored Wheaton 15-14 in the second quarter, facing a 14-point deficit heading into the locker room, 34-20. Another big quarter for the Lyons extended the lead as Cedar Crest scored eight points in the third and fourth quarters, ultimately falling 36-67.

Leading the Falcons' in scoring and rebounds was graduate student
Meghan Gregory (Buckhorn, NM/Cliff ), who scored nine points, grabbed 10 rebounds and a blocked shot. Freshman
Joana Cainglet (Collegeville, Pa./Pope John Paul II) tossed in six points for the Black and Yellow, adding three rebounds and an assist. Junior
Venus Cabrera (Reading,Pa./Berks Catholic) and sophomore
Khnaue Robinson (Newark, N.J./Great Oaks Legacy Charter) each tossed in five points for the Falcons.
Cabrera also contributed two assists and a rebound as
Robinson added two steals, two boards and two assists.

Junior
Mackenzie Borger (Kresgeville, Pa./Pleasant Valley) tossed four points and four defensive rebounds while
Amiyah Peters (Plainville, Conn./Plainville) hits a three-point basket and two rebounds. Junior
Geminii Cabrera (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic), who was selected to the All-Tournament Team, gathered three rebounds and made a basket for two points. Also, scoring two points in the contest was sophomore
Natasha Barber (Dallas, TX/Ranchview), adding two steals and a rebound. Bringing down six rebounds, two assist and two steals was sophomore
Jada Garrett (Dallas, TX/Ranchview) to round out the Falcons in the books.

Up next, Cedar Crest will open the New Year with a CSAC Home game versus Keystone College. The Falcons will take on the Giants on Saturday, January 5 at Lees Hall with tip-off set for 1:00 PM.
