Gregory Earns Double-Double in Loss to Marywood on Senior Day

Box Score ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College women's basketball team honored its' two seniors, Meghan Gregory (Buckhorn, NM/Cliff ) and Shemeca Thompson (Bridgeport, CT/Warren Harding), with Gregory earning a double-double in the season finale versus Marywood Saturday afternoon. Ending the season with a loss, the Falcons fell to 3-21 overall and have a CSAC record of 2-14.

Senior center Gregory earned a double-double to end the 2017-18 campaign with 16 points and 14 rebounds while adding four blocked shots in her senior game. Also competing in her final game as a Falcon was senior forward Thompson, who grabbed eight boards, four points, three steals, and an assist.

Sophomore guard Geminii Cabrera (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) also scored double figures for Cedar Crest, netting 15 points, two rebounds and an assist while sophomore guard Sylera Weller (Lancaster, Pa./J.P . McCaskey) hit a three-pointer and added two steals, two rebounds and an assist. Freshman guard Khnaue Robinson (Newark, N.J./Great Oaks Legacy Charter) made a fastbreak layup to end the game with two points, three steals, an assist and a rebound as sophomore forward Venus Cabrera (Reading,Pa./Berks Catholic) contributed three assists, a rebound and a steal.

The Falcons struggled out of the gates, scoring 5 points in the opening quarter, allowing the Pacers to score 22 points to put the score at 22-5 through one period. Cedar Crest came back firing in the second quarter, outscoring Marywood 20-18, putting the score at 40-25 heading to the intermission.

Coming out of the locker room, the Black and Yellow netted 12 points, with Marywood dropping 28 points to put the score at 68-37. In the final quarter, Cedar Crest went cold and could only muster three points as the Pacers kept pouring it on, scoring 18 points, as the Falcons fell to Marywood, 86-40.
