Field Hockey drops season opener to Bryn Mawr on the FalconPlex

ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College Field Hockey team got blanked by Bryn Mawr, 2-0, at the FalconPlex Friday night.

"I thought the team played hard and kept their composure during the game," stated Head Coach Amber Auchenbach fafter her first game at the helm of the Field Hockey program.

The Falcons' were outshot 13-1 in the contest and took only two corners compared to Bryn Mawr's six. The Owls scored twice off of corners taken. Sophomore midfielder Annalise Unger (Burlington, Ver./Rice Memorial ) was able to get off the lone shot for Cedar Crest in the game.

Getting the start in cage tonight was junior Emma Ryan (Sterling, Va./Park View). Ryan made eight saves on the 11 shots on goal and received the loss in the game.

"Despite the outcome of the game," continued Auchenbach, "I am looking forward to seeing what this team can do moving forward."

The Falcons have a full week off before returning to action, when they head to Marywood University for a 7:00 PM start.
