ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest Field Hockey team came up short with a 3-2 loss to Marywood University Friday evening.

The Falcons, now 0-2 on the year, got on the board first, with the first goal of the season by sophomore
Annalise Unger (Burlington, Ver./Rice Memorial ) just under 10 minutes into the game. The Black and Yellow would strike again with sophomore
Brice Gardner (Gardners, Pa./Biglerville ) shot the ball between the goalkeeper's legs to put Cedar Crest up 2-0 with 20 minutes to play in the first half.

The Pacers would answer shortly after the second goal, as Marywood would get a goal within a minute of the Falcons to cut the lead in half 2-1. The score would remain for the remainder of the half.

Marywood would score the equalizer five minutes into the second half where we would be deadlocked as regulation ended. In Overtime, the Pacers would show to be too much as Marywood found a way to score to hand Cedar Crest their second loss this season.

Starting in the cage tonight was junior
Emma Ryan (Sterling, Va./Park View), who saved seven shots of the 10 she faced.
Ryan would receive the loss this evening, putting her at 0-2.

Cedar Crest was outshot 4-20 as the Falcons had three shots on target, while the Pacers had 10. The Black and Yellow earned just two corners to Marywood's 16.

The Falcons will travel to Bethlehem for their next contest, where they will face off with the Greyhounds from Moravian College. First whistle is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
