JERSEY CITY, N.J. --- Cedar Crest drops its second consecutive contest, falling to New Jersey City University, 3-1 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Falcons, now 3-2 on the year, fell behind early after a Gothic Knight scored just 1:18 into the game. New Jersey City would get one more past the Falcons' keeper with under five minutes remaining in the opening half to push the deficit to 2-0.
Sophomore
Daria Warner (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) would find the back of the net for her 6th goal of the season in the 62nd minute to cut the lead in half. The final goal of the game was score by the Gothic Knights with just over 10 minutes in regulation to put the game out of reach for the Black and Yellow, losing 3-1.
Junior Goalkeeper,
Morgan Maddock (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial High School), saved seven of the ten shots she faced, receiving the loss in the decision.
Maddock now has a 3-2 record.
Cedar Crest fired 13 shots in the contest, having six on target, while New Jersey City had 17 shots with 10 on goal. The Falcons earned a corner in each half, as the Gothic Knights doubled them with four in the game.
Cedar Crest will return to action on Sunday, September 16, when they host Wells College on the FalconPlex. First whistle set for 4:00 PM.
