Box Score 1 ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College Volleyball team defeated both of their opponents on Saturday, taking down the College of Old Westbury 3-0 in straight sets and conquering Immaculata University 3-1.
In Game 1, the Falcons won all three sets: 25-10, 25-18, 25-11 Throughout the game, Cedar Crest had 32 kills, 29 total assists and 30 digs. Leading the team with 10 kills was junior
Nicole Hill (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany), who also had five service aces and two digs while sophomore
Lindsey Davis (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) contributed nine kills, six digs and also had five service aces. Freshman
Madison Flatt (Reinholds, Pa./Cocauco) contributed 14 assists and two digs while freshman
Talia Watson (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) added eight assists and two digs
Cedar Crest claimed Game 2 in four sets, 3-1: 25-20, 25-21, 23-25 and 25-19 over the Mighty Macs. The Falcons had 39 total kills, 36 total assists and 87 digs.
Davis lead the team in kills with 13 while
Flatt recorded 17 assists and five aces. Leading the team in blocks was
Hill, who also added three aces. Sophomore
Tiffany Hoppes (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus),
Elrod and
Davis each contributed 18 digs in the contest to round out team leaders.
The Volleyball squad will return to action on Wednesday, September 12 for another home game as they go up against the University of Valley Forge. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM.
