LANGHORNE, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest Basketball team, after a hard-fought battle, dropped their second-straight Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) contest, 55-67 to Cairn University on Saturday morning.

"We played another great 30 minutes of Falcons' basketball," commented Head Coach
Kristin Karat. "If we can figure out how to close out game, we are going to be tough to beat."

The Falcons slip to 4-13 overall and 3-5 in the CSAC conference. A close first quarter had the Black and Yellow down by two points, 11-13. Back and forth affair in the second quarter, Cedar Crest scored 9 points to the Highlanders 13, had the Falcons trailing 20-27 at the half. A big third quarter, scoring 22 points, put the Black and Yellow within one point heading into the final frame, 42-43. Scoring 13 points in the fourth quarter, would not be enough to get past Cairn, who scored 24 points, to put the final score at 55-67.

Leading the Falcons in scoring was junior
Mackenzie Borger (Kresgeville, Pa./Pleasant Valley), dropping a career-high 20 points, six rebounds, four assists and a block. "Mack is stepping into her own and it's awesome to see," added
Coach Karat.
Borger also went 8-10 from the free throw line. Recording a double-double in the contest was graduate student
Meghan Gregory (Buckhorn, NM/Cliff ), scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 boards for the Black and Yellow. Missing double-digits by one point was freshman
Joana Cainglet (Collegeville, Pa./Pope John Paul II), tossing in nine points, three steals and a rebound.

Sophomore
Natasha Barber (Dallas, TX/Ranchview) netted six points for Cedar Crest, adding a rebound and a blocked shot. Sophomores
Khnaue Robinson (Newark, N.J./Great Oaks Legacy Charter) and
Jada Garrett (Dallas, TX/Ranchview) each contributed four points apiece.
Robinson added two steals, two assists and two rebounds while
Garrett contributed eight rebounds, five of them being offensive. Not scoring in the contest, but contributing in other areas was sophomore
Venus Cabrera (Reading,Pa./Berks Catholic).
Cabrera grabbed five rebounds while the freshman
Amiyah Peters (Plainville, Conn./Plainville) contributed a game-high five assists, two rebounds and a steal.

Cedar Crest has two road contests this week, starting with traveling to Bryn Athyn College on Tuesday, January 22 at 7:00 PM.
