Field Hockey suffers 1-0 home loss to Keystone

ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College Field Hockey squad fell to Keystone College at home, 1-0 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Falcons, now 3-9 overall and 0-2 in conference action, had their fair share of opportunities in the matchup. The Black and Yellow took 10 shots in the game, having eight shots going on cage, where the Giants had 12 of their 13 shots go on goal. Cedar Crest earned more penalty corners in the game, recording 12 to Keystone's eight.
 
In the first quarter, Keystone scored the lone goal of the contest off of a breakaway in the 7th minute. Cedar Crest would find the back of the cage in the 3rd-quarter, but it was taken away by the officials due to a delayed call. The Falcons would have other opportunities, but was unable to get a shot past the Keystone keeper.
 
Senior Cassandra Reijgers (Hollis, N.H./Hollis Brookline) was the starting goalkeeper and made 11 saves in the contest. She made three saves in each of the first three quarters, then two saves in the fourth. She saved 11 of the 13 shots she faced. Reijgers record falls to 2-7 after receiving the loss in the decision.
 
The Falcons will have a full-week before their next game, when they host Centenary University for Senior Day on Saturday, October 19th. Senior Day festivities will take place prior to the start of the game, that is scheduled for 11:00 AM on the FalconPlex.
