LA PLUME, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College Soccer team improved to 4-0 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action after taking down Keystone College 5-1 on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons improve to 8-4 overall and remain unbeaten in conference play, 4-0.

"We gutted this one out, we got the job done today and worked through the 90 minutes" stated Head Coach
Sarah Wolcott. "I think the indication of a good team is not playing your best but still finding a way to command a win, and we did that today."
Cedar Crest dominated the game play in the contest, taking 30 shots, with 12 going on goal, compared to the Giants six shots, with four that went on the Cedar Crest goalkeeper. The Black and Yellow earned six corners in the first half and four in the second for 10 total corner kicks, to Keystone's two, which came in the second half.

Daria Warner (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt)Â lit up the scoreboard in the win, scoring twice in the first half and added two more goals in the second half to put
Warner at a total of 16 goals this season.
Warner netted her first goal in the 7th minute with an assist coming from Senior
Kelsey Kehm (Trappe, Pa./Perkiomen Valley), then scored her second of the game in the 15th minute with an assist being credited to
Brittney Dunleavy (Auburn, Pa./Blue Mountain). The Falcons would head into halftime with a 2-0 lead over the Giants.

Warner would only need a minute and 12 seconds to score in the second half, beating the Giants goalkeeper off of a pass from freshman
Jordan Cicio (Wantage, N.J./High Point) in the 47th minute.
Warner scored her fourth and final goal of the game in the 56th minute with
Dunleavy receiving the assist on the play to put the Falcons up 4-0. Senior
Kimberly Rosano (Belvidere, NJ/Belvidere) who score her first goal of the season in the 71st minute off of a pass from sophomore
Kaitlyn Kozdron (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township) to give Cedar Crest a 5-0 lead. Keystone would score a goal in the 89th minute to cut into the lead, but that score would hold until the final whistle, and the Black and Yellow would defeat the Giants 5-1.

Lauren Makely (Lake Grove/Sachem North)Â who also improves to 8-4 this season.Â
Makely recorded three saves on the six shots she faced in the victory.

The Falcons return to action on Wednesday, October 16 when they host the College of Saint Elizabeth for another CSAC contest. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM at the FalconPlex.

As part as its continuing dedication to sportsmanship, the Colonial States Athletic Conference is participating in its third Sportsmanship Week. The CSAC will showcase its commitment to sportsmanship by having both teams participate in a pre-game handshake.
The Colonial States Athletic Conference recently used NCAA funding to help promote sportsmanship among its member institutions, and all administrators, coaches and student-athletes are dedicated to demonstrating respect for their opponents at all times.
