The start of the third quarter was where the Falcons capitalized and got themselves on the scoreboard. Freshman
Kiley Marone (Mohrsville, PA/Tulpehocken High School) received a pass from senior
Makenzie Kistler (Walnutport, Pa./Northampton) that she would put past the Phoenix keeper and gave the Falcons the lead in the 31st minute. That goal was
Marone's ninth of the season and was
Kistler's fourth assist of the year. The score would hold until the fourth quarter, when Cedar Crest would extend their lead to 2-0 after freshman
Amber Cieri (Slatington, Pa./Northern Lehigh) deflected a shot by senior
Alexx Miller (Mechanicsburg, Pa/Mechanicsburg Area) past the goalkeeper in the 53rd minute.
Cieri tallied her fourth goal of her rookie season as
Miller was credited with her second assist. The score would stand the remainder of the game as the Falcons took down Wilson College, 2-0.
Â
"We came out a much more intense team in the second half, and kept the pressure high to get some scoring opportunities. I'm so pleased with their level of composure on the field." commented Head Coach
Kellina Yarrish.
Â
Senior
Cassandra Reijgers (Hollis, N.H./Hollis Brookline) recorded her 13th start of the season, making four saves in the victory, improving her record to 6-7 this season.
Miller recorded a defensive save in the first quarter in the 13th minute off of a Wilson Penalty corner to total the five Falcon saves they recorded.
Â
The Falcons conclude the regular season on the road, when they travel to Bryn Athyn College on Saturday, November 2 for a CSAC game. The contest is scheduled to start at 2:00 PM at Nelson Field.
